Just saw the NDP and I am in a crisis. Its either the NDP organizing committee did not sprinkle enough of those patriotic dust, or the show is plain boring. The NDP show is almost the same year in year out. Its hard to feel anything more than "these guys must have burnt a lot of weekends". I suppose the top guys know about it too, maybe that's why they have allowed a Black-eye peas' song to be part of the show. "I got the feeling"....lalalalaa.....
Perhaps one of the sad and cringe-worthy moment is when nobody bothered about the YOG song and there was an obvious "lets get it over and done with it.
I think one of the heartwarming scenes are those of the early nation building days. The true spirit of Singapore, which sadly, lay hidden amidst the crazy dances and a feeble attempt to showcase how young and fun Singapore can be.
Meanwhile, life goes on.
And I feel empty.
